I was surprised at how easy fondant really is. Since I am not amazing at making a cake perfectly smooth fondant seems like the only way to go. This was so long ago I don't even remember how to make the little rose I did here.
I wanted to play with my new found skill so I made this just to practice.
What I learned in that class was so helpful. She had us buy plastic, the heavy kind you use to cover furniture with. We would roll the fondant out on that and then lift it up, turn it upside down, and lay it over the cake. It would stick while upside down until you gently pulled it off. Great trick for fondant.
This is my journey into the world of cake making and decorating. My wonderful Mom gifted me with the love of creating and decorating cakes. Learn with me through my successes and my failures. As a vegan girl I will share wonderful recipes I discover.
